How to Deal with Drama Kings & Queens
with Minnie Lenox

Statistics show that drama in the workplace takes from employee production, divides departments, blurs roles and responsibilities and sets an overall tone of negativity for any company.  Human Resources and Managers deal with HUMANS daily, so they are often faced with issues such as personal lives, health, finances and other issues bleeding over into the workplace.  These things are inevitable, so a Drama King or Queen can only make things worse.  This will give you  tools to help with information gathering , communication styles . . . even discipline to help you move through the conflict started by a Drama Kling or Queen.

Minnie Lenox, a native of Hot Springs, attended Langston High, Hot Springs High, Indiana University, GCCC/Quapaw Vocational Technical and Henderson State where she majored in Business Administration with a minor in Engineering. In 1982, she went to work for the Chamber of Commerce and the Advertising & Promotion Commission as the Office Manager over Personnel. In 1990, the City began providing the administrative duties for Advertising & Promotion and she then became a Trainer for the City of Hot Springs. In 1992, she was appointed as the Training Coordinator. In 1996, she attended Oklahoma State University where she became certified as a Training & Development Specialist. In 2004, she was promoted to the position of Director of Human Resources for the City. She has written & conducted numerous workshops in Professional Development, Customer Service, Teamwork, Leadership in Today’s Workplace, Diversity in the Workplace, Sexual Harassment, Dealing with Negativity in the Workplace, Stress Management & Workplace Ethics.

Community Involvement:

This month we are holding a toilet paper and paper towel drive to benefit The Hope Movement, which provides such needs as a safe living environment, skills for gainful employment, life-skills training, and counseling to help women move forward from an addictive lifestyle.

If you recall, the Chapter did a white towel drive for The Hope Movement last fall to help them get their 8 bedroom home set-up. I had the pleasure of walking through the home last month, and it looked amazing. All of the woman who are placed there are doing well.

If you have any questions about the organization and how else you can help, please email wcashrm@wcashrm.org or visit their website at www.Thehopemovement.net.
