HRCI's New aPHR Certification? Get the Right Start in HR

Embarking on a new human resource management career and new to the field of HR? HRCI's Associate Professional in Human Resource™ (aPHR™) is the perfect certification for you!

The aPHR represents the industry’s first-ever HR certification designed for practitioners who are just beginning their HR professional journey. HRCI will begin accepting aPHR applications in April. If you are interested in participating in the aPHR pilot program, please complete your request below. 

Why did HRCI develop the aPHR? Our conversations with the HR community indicates a growing need for an entry-level HR certification program such as the aPHR. CHROs tell us there is a huge benefit in putting new HR leaders on a successful course to certification and continuous learning ? right from the start. The aPHR will help newly graduated HR students and professionals make more productive transitions into the HR field. 

How will I benefit from the aPHR? With the aPHR, you will start your HR career off right. You will demonstrate:

  • Mastery of foundational HR knowledge based on the most trusted and credible HR certification authority, HRCI
  • Commitment and passion ? not only to enter the HR practice, but to remain in the practice as a dedicated and continuous-learning contributor.
  • Confidence to stay on a successful HR career path – always growing through real-world experience and along the way earning HRCI’s more advanced credentials such as the PHR, SPHR and GPHR. 

 

Who is eligible? You are eligible if you are interested in pursuing a career in HR management and you have a high school diploma or equivalent. This is the perfect program for recent college graduates, armed services men and women who want to make the transition to a civilian profession and other professionals seeking a career transition into the HR field. The pilot program will only be available in the United States. In April, aPHR testing will be available worldwide (basic knowledge of U.S.-based HR laws will be required of all participants).

How much does it cost to participate in the pilot program? For a limited time, the pilot program will be accepting applications. The pilot fee is $200 to participate (the $75 application fee will be waived).  In April, the exam fee will be $325, plus a non-refundable $75 application fee.
